Stay-Put Transfer

Students who have completed at least one school year with the District but who move within the District mid-school year or between school years, changing their zoned campus for the following school year, may apply for a Stay-Put Transfer to stay at their current campus by submitting an application during the annual transfer window or within two (2) weeks of the residence address change.

  • Stay-Put Transfers are open to students in grades Pre-K4 through 12.

  • This applies to students who move to another campus zone within the FISD boundary.

  • Learn more in the Administrative Transfer Guidelines.

Applications Open Ongoing

To submit a student Stay-Put Transfer request the student must be registered and have a Student ID with Frisco ISD and the parent/guardian must have created their Portal account.

For Consideration

The Administrative Transfer Guidelines will be a helpful resource when choosing to keep your child to Frisco ISD via a Legacy Transfer.

  • Stay-Put Transfers are not available for changes in campus assignment based on rezoning.

  • If a Stay-Put Transfer is granted, the student will be permitted to continue in attendance at their previously zoned campus for the duration of the grade levels available at that campus, provided the student/guardian enter into and adhere to the terms of the written transfer agreement, the Student Code of Conduct, District policy, and these guidelines.

  • High school: Transfer students are subject to the University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules and local District guidelines for extracurricular participation and other residency-based activities.

While Frisco ISD extends transfer opportunities for students in and out of district boundaries, the District maintains high expectations for these students. Transfers are a privilege, not a right. Learn about District-Initiated Transfer Withdrawals.
