Staley Updates

The Frisco ISD Board of Trustees is considering the future of Staley Middle School.

At its regular April meeting, the Board rejected a motion to close Staley at the end of the current school year, 2024-25. A separate motion was made to engage an additional outside demographer to present updated Staley enrollment projections at the regular Board meeting June 9. That motion passed.

More information will be shared with the community as it becomes available.

Background

In a presentation at the Board’s regular March meeting, District staff shared information about Staley’s history and options for the campus moving forward.

As a result of declining enrollment both at Staley and districtwide, and the significant infrastructure investment needed for Staley improvements, staff recommended that the campus be retired at the end of this school year or the next. A special Staley Community Input Meeting was held March 31 to solicit feedback, as well.
