Superintendent Search

In Nov. 2025, Dr. Mike Waldrip announced his retirement as Superintendent of Frisco ISD, effective June 30, 2026. In his nine years as superintendent Dr. Waldrip has worked hard to strengthen our schools, create opportunities for students, and foster a culture of care and collaboration that defines Frisco ISD.

In December 2025, the Board of Trustees approved Impact Education Specialists as the executive search firm to guide the selection of the next Frisco ISD superintendent.

Timeline

January 9-21, 2026 - Community/Parent Superintendent Input Survey and Staff Superintendent Input Survey

January 15 and 21, 2026 - Community Input Sessions. No RSVP needed.

January 30, 2026 - Application submission window closes at 5 p.m. CST

February 2026 - Candidate screening

March 2026 - Interviews conclude

Mid-March 2026 - Lone finalist named

Late-March 2026 - Hiring of superintendent

Community Engagement Opportunities

Impact Ed has two planned dates to develop the profile of a potential superintendent candidate through community and staff feedback. These sessions will provide an opportunity for stakeholder involvement in collecting key information to help the board as they navigate the search process.

Thursday, January 15 at the FISD Administration Building, 5515 Ohio Drive

  • 10 a.m. & 11 a.m. - PTA, Boosters, Civic Organizations/City Leadership 

  • 1 p.m. & 2 p.m. - Central Administration, Directors, and Support Staff

  • 4 p.m. & 5 p.m. - Campus Faculty and Staff

  • 6 p.m. & 7 p.m. - Community
